STICKS, STIPES & OTHER THINGS is a series of recent mixed media paintings. Most work includes one or more tree branches. The branches are shaped while growing and then culled. The branches & tree limbs come from Los Angeles, Central California, Oakland or Montana. I include collected objects that have a natural patina of age and transient stark beauty. The collected objects include human hair, thorns, copper wire, animal bone fragments, metal, glass & ceramic shards, spray painted plywood and saved construction materials.
